Looking for rental housing?  Here are some options in Washtenaw County.

As of April 2, 2025 source of income is a protected class under Michigan's Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act. See Fair Housing Center of Southeast and Mid-Michigan's new Fact Sheet available at https://fhcmichigan.org/know-your-rights/source-of-income.

Local ordinances throughout the State of Michigan may provide additional protection. In Washtenaw County, the cities of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti include sources of income in their anti-discrimination ordinances.

​If you suspect your fair housing rights have been violated, please call the Fair Housing Center (FHC) toll-free at 1-877-979-3247 to discuss the situation. You can also fill out a contact form on their website at https://fhcmichigan.org/get-help. FHC staff will follow up with you to obtain additional information. They will keep the information you provide confidential. They will not report undocumented immigrants to the authorities.
